Oxshott

Information about the village of Oxshott, Surrey.

High Street

Oxshott is centered around: the High Street, which lies on the A244 between Esher and Leatherhead; St Andrew's Church in Oakshade Road; and the Village Centre located in Holtwood Road.

There is a small group of shops and businesses on the High Street with parking opposite the petrol station.

The village has a semi-rural character resulting from the surrounding: Oxshott Heath, designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest because of its wildlife; Prince's Coverts which is owned by the Crown Estate; and local farmland. A local association of residents, FEDORA, interacts closely with Elmbridge council to represent the viewpoints of local residents and to try to ensure that building developments are in keeping with the character of the village.

Facilities for families include a number of high-quality schools including The Royal Kent School, Danes Hill, and Reeds School. The International Community School is about 10 minutes' drive away. There is an excellent and very active sports club, OVSC, and many social groups and societies.

The two pubs, the Victoria shown in the photo on the left and the Bear shown on the right, both serve excellent food and drink, and are both family-oriented with attractive beer gardens.
